Poems to Home Project
These poems make up the ‘Poems to Home’ project–short poems inspired by places and plants. Written by Alice Springs poets. Delivered on postcards. A collaboration between the NT Writers’ Centre and Incite Arts.
The project is part of the 2016 Unbroken Land Sept 16-18; an art promenade through the Alice Springs Desert park, exploring themes of home and belonging, brought to you by Incite Arts in partnership with Red Hot Arts.
Poets were invited to respond to these themes with a short poem.
During Unbroken Land, audiences are invited to wander through the beautiful Alice Springs Desert Park, encountering expressions by performers, artists, children and members of the diverse local community of what it means to find home and belonging in Alice Springs.
These poems will be distributed during three evenings as a part of the unfolding experience of the event. As poems, they invite us to meditate on ideas and images. As postcards, they are intimate offerings of words between two people.
The NT Writers’ Centre would like to express our thanks to Incite Arts for the opportunity to be involved in this year’s Unbroken Land.
