Congratulations 2017 Winners
Thanks to each of this year’s twelve performers, to the wonderful audience, and to the Larrakia people on whose land the Cup has taken place each year for the past twenty-three years.
A huge congratulations extended to the 2017 winners:
Nigel Ford was awarded third place for his piece about poetry competitions and blood sports. The poem was met with laughter from the audience and nervousness from other contestants.
Emma Pantazis took out second place with a poem about the necessity of developing a new, more holistic far reaching awareness in order to deal with the advancing problems of the 21stCentury.
And with raucous, rousing, roof-lifting consensus, the audience awarded Nompumelelo Mpehle first place for her piece about responsibility & never getting fooled by a cheap deal because somebody always pays.
